Laser

The Laser does not require a reflector and will detect even a black surface.
The operating range is between 200mm and 30 meters with an output of 4-20mA or RS422.

Depth Indication by Laser System (DIBL)

A laser is used to indicate drill hole depth on the DIBL System. This introduces a reliable method of detecting depth without physical contact and avoids the problems associated with using encoders and pull wire devices on rope pull down drills.
